I liked many of the features with the paid version. I used their free version for years and decided to get a paid "pro" subscription. Otherwise they will just cancel auto-renew, and you'll still end up with another year's subscription and no refund.
And you have to specifically ask for a refund and to not renew. I contacted them and after a week passed with no response, I ended up contacting Piriform, who end the end refunded the renewal amount and cancelled the renewal, thereby ending my subscription. I first contacted them and they told me to contact Cleverbridge (the company that actually did the billing). I used PayPal to pay for the subscription. They use a third-party company (Cleverbridge) to do their billing, complicating things.
There are no phone numbers to call either, you'll have to do it all through email and hope someone responds. Then you'll spend two weeks trying to cancel it and get your money back. If you get a paid subscription they set your account to auto-renew by default, so even though they start hounding you to renew 3-4 months before the end of your subscription and give you the impression that it's up to you to renew or not, in the end they will auto-renew your subscription a month before it ends.
